Nominations

This section applies specifically to award nominations submitted through our website.

When you submit a nomination we collect information about you as the nominator, including your name, contact details and your relationship to the nominee, and information about the person, organisation, project or event you are nominating, including any supporting information, links, photographs, documents or video you provide.

Nominating another person. Where you provide a nominee's personal details, you confirm that you have a reasonable basis to do so and that the nominee is aware of, or would reasonably expect, the nomination. We may contact the nominee to confirm. Please only upload photographs, documents or other material you have permission to share.

Nominees under 18. Some awards recognise young dancers. Where a nomination concerns a person under 18, we require confirmation that a parent or guardian has consented to the nomination and to the young person's details being used in connection with the Dance Awards Ireland 2026. We handle information relating to anyone under 18 with particular care, limit who can access it, and will not publish a young person's details without appropriate consent.

Who sees a nomination. Nomination information is seen by Dance Awards Ireland for administration and verification, and by the judging panel assessing that category. Where you ask us to, we will keep your identity as nominator confidential from the nominee.

Legal basis and retention. We process nomination data on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in running the awards fairly. We keep nomination information for the duration of the 2026 awards cycle and up to 24 months afterwards, then delete or anonymise it, unless we are required to keep it longer to meet a legal obligation.

Data Retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it, including legal, accounting and reporting requirements.
